Ian Riccaponi Celebrates Milestone as ROH Play-By-Play Commentator – Wrestling Inc.
Ian Ricccaboni has plenty of professional broadcasting experience, dating back to 2012 when he became part of [Philadelphia] Phillies Nation TV. Since January 2015, he’s been calling Ring of Honor matches, and on Thursday night, here he hit the milestone — or at least, he thinks he did. yesterday morning, Recapone tweeted A note titled “271! Maybe?” Before revealing why this number matters.
“Last night was episode 271 (I think?…) of ROH TV,” he began. “It means I’ve connected to ROH TV more than anyone else. It means the world to me. I just want to share my gratitude for the opportunities and fun over the years!”
Rickaponi who wonders if it’s really 271 episodes has been relegated to the “unconventional” schedule of ROH TV during the pandemic.
But if it’s not 271 yet, well, let him have this anyway. After all, it will probably be soon. Riccapone’s tweet concluded, “And if for some reason the math isn’t quite right, don’t tell me until it’s done and I’ll retweet it.”
In addition to his work with ROH, Ricccaboni has done commentary for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He also appeared on AEW programming to call select ROH matches, and in 2022 he called pay-per-view matches for ROH, AEW, GCW, Impact Wrestling, and NJPW.
