DA Alvin Bragg v. Trump hinges on witnesses with credibility problems: Andy McCarthy
On Saturday, former President Donald Trump said he could face possible arrest over charges of “silence money” paid to porn star Stormy Daniels. And Andy McCarthy, Fox News contributor and former Assistant Attorney General for the Southern District of New York, joined in.One Nation with Brian Kilmadehost Brian Kilmeade to discuss what the news means for Trump.
Kilmedy noted that a spokesperson for the former president has shared that there was no official notification of the arrest. The office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg declined to comment.
In a National Review column, McCarthy stated that Trump’s impending impeachment is a “disgrace” because it is a political move by the progressive attorney general in the “long-term” favor of the Democratic Party.

McCarthy pointed out to Kilmeade that this issue ceases Daniels testimonial and Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, both of whom have credibility issues.
“[Bragg] Bryan and my old office walked away from her, Southern District of New York, and federal prosecutors in Manhattan wanted no part in this case, which doesn’t just hinge on the testimony of porn star Stormy Daniels, who, you know, look, I think it’s credible to her, McCarthy said. To claim that it happened so long ago, but at the same time, you know, it was on the record… twice saying it didn’t happen.” The critical witness here is Michael Cohen And I think, probably, the Feds turned away from him because of his deep credibility problems. So you don’t start off in a great place with these witnesses.”
McCarthy added that if Trump is arrested, the US Secret Service and NYPD will coordinate to ensure his safety, and he will likely surrender in a safe area without a conventional arrest. The NYPD will take fingerprints and photos, but the photo will not be expected to be made public. Then Trump appears for the first time before a judge in the court.

“The NYPD and the DA’s office are going to put him through the processing. I don’t think he’s going to be arrested in the traditional sense where they’re going to put handcuffs on him and walk him over. Given all the security and logistical nightmare involved in this kind of moving forward with an ex-boss, what I expect is that they’ll find a place for him.” To surrender him in a safe area where the Secret Service will stay with him,” McCarthy said.
He continued, “The NYPD will process it, which means they’ll work on fingerprints and photos, which they do for everyone who gets into the system. I doubt we’ll see the mug photographed anytime soon. I don’t see it because it’s supposed to be non-public.” I know this stuff leaks from time to time, but I’m not going to hold my breath on this for a while. And then they’ll have to bring him to court where he’ll have his first appearance before a judge.”
