Anthony Edwards is out indefinitely with an ankle injury, with only 3 weeks left in the regular season
the Minnesota Timberwolves I got some very bad news at a very bad time.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is still in his walking shoes and is out indefinitely with an ankle injury, By radio announcer Alan Horton.
The injury occurred on Friday when Edwards fell awkwardly on his right foot and immediately cried out in pain. He spent the next few moments writhing and hitting the ground before the Timberwolves coaches brought him up. He was eventually helped off the ground.
This was the last thing Minnesota wanted to see given the state of their season. The 35-36 T-Wolves currently sit eighth in the Western Conference, but they’re part of the cornucopia of teams currently in the middle of the standings. They are only two games out of fifth place Los Angeles Clippers And 1.5 games before the 12th place New Orleans Pelicans.
With only three weeks and 11 games remaining in the regular season, the Timberwolves didn’t have much time for Edwards to heal and have plenty of time to get out of the playing cycle.
Going into Friday, Edwards is averaging 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 46.0% from the field and 36.9% from 3-point range. Every one of those numbers was on its way to being a new career high.
