a A California man has been shot Sunday was killed after calling police officers “pigs” and running at them with a steel bar.
Bodycam footage purportedly shows Adam Barkenas, 60, walking toward officers in Oxnard, California with a five-foot steel bar on Sunday at 6 a.m.
Oxnard police officers were conducting a DUI investigation when Barcenas – who was not involved – confronted them.
Barcenas can be heard calling the officers “pigs” and shouting “I hate you” in the video.

The officers told Parkinas to stand down, but he advanced toward the officer, who then fired four shots.
Parkinas “ignored the officers’ orders and continued to advance towards the officers in an aggressive and threatening manner.” Oxnard Police Department he said in a press release.
Three shots hit Parcenas. Another policeman fired a taser, but Barsina did not penetrate her skin.

Barcenas was transferred to Ventura County Medical Center Where he died a few hours later. None of the officers was injured during the confrontation.
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave, per department protocol.

“Whenever a shooting occurs between an officer or officers are involved in a fatal accident, three separate investigations are opened,” Oxnard Police Chief Jason Bennetts said in a statement.
Barcenas was shot by a police officer and taken to Ventura County Medical Center where he died a few hours later. (Oxnard Police Department)
